Jun Alfon is one of the Philippines best known artists. His images – mainly fantastically costumed women of tribal Mindanao - are vibrant and passionately engaging. Alfon’s work is well-defined and he employs oil paint liberally. His spirited details leap off the canvas – elements such as beaded necklaces or the pattern of a woven bamboo basket are delineated with understated finesse.

Aflon’s art is imbibed with Filipino spirit and it is of little wonder why his works are cherished.
